What information are we collecting?
Email newsletter: When you sign up to our email newsletters on our website we may ask for personal information about you consisting of information such as your name and email address. By entering your details in the fields requested, you enable us to provide you with the services you select. You will be able to unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the unsubscribe link or by contacting our office. We will not share this data with any third parties.
Online enquiry: When you submit an enquiry online, we may ask for information such as your name and contact details. By entering your details in the fields requested, you enable us to provide you with the services you select. We will not subscribe you to our email newsletters unless you specifically opt-in. We will not share this data with any third parties.
Booking: When you book a tour with The Slow Cyclist there is a certain amount of information we require to fulfil your holiday. This can sometimes include:
Date of birth
Next of kin
Details of any medical condition
Names of additional travellers
Credit or debit card information if paying online
Who is collecting this information?
The Slow Cyclist is collecting this information.
Why is it being collected?
This information is either to provide you with requested services such as email newsletters or brochures, or to complete your holiday booking.
How will it be used?
The Slow Cyclist will use your personal information for a number of uses including, but not exclusively, for the following:
- Administrative purposes, which means that The Slow Cyclist may contact you for reasons related to the service you have requested e.g. extra information required for visas or pre-trip paperwork required to organise the trip for you
- To analyse and improve the services offered e.g. post trip feedback
- To keep you updated of special offers and general information via our newsletter, from which you may unsubscribe at any time
If you have booked a holiday with The Slow Cyclist, we will keep your information on record for three years after you return home, in case this information needs to be accessed in matters relating to your booking. This information will be deleted after three years.
Who will it be shared with?
If booking a holiday with The Slow Cyclist, we will need to share information with our team, partners and suppliers in the destination you are visiting. This may consist of your name, passport number, date of birth, insurance details, level of fitness, next of kin and any medical conditions or dietary requirements. We request that our local team, partners and suppliers delete this information 30 days after your tour ends.
We also share your email address with Trusted Shops who collect reviews on our behalf. They will only email you once concerning your trip with The Slow Cyclist.
We may share surnames with our partner who organises flights and other travel services for some guests. This will not be used for marketing purposes. If you book through his organisation we cannot be held responsible for the way your data is used.
You have certain rights in respect of the personal information that we hold about you. Details of these rights are set out below. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us.
(a) Access: We will confirm to you whether or not we are processing and using personal information about you, at your request and, if so, provide you with access to and a copy of such personal information and the other details to which you are entitled.
(b) Rectification: We will correct any inaccurate personal data and complete any incomplete personal data (including by providing a supplementary statement) that we hold about you.
(c) Prevention of processing likely to cause damage or distress: We will respect your rights to require us to cease or not to begin processing your personal information for a specific purpose, or in a specific way, that is likely to cause you or any third parties unwarranted damage or distress.
(d) Erasure: We will erase your personal information at your request without undue delay where there is no good reason for us to continue to use it.
(e) Restriction: We will restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances, if you ask us to do so.
(f) Data portability: We will provide you or third parties on your behalf with a copy of any personal information that we hold about you which you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine readable format.
(g) Objection (including objection to direct marketing): We will respect your general rights to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances, including for direct marketing purposes.
(h) Automated decisions and profiling: We will respect your rights to require us not to carry out decisions based solely on automated processing, including profiling, which produce legal or similarly significant effects on you.
